Junglemania - exotic experience, local success story

ADAM - Targeted Industry Attraction strategy hits a ‘triple play’ for the City of Salmon Arm

Junglemania - exotic experience, local success story

January 25, 2006
Salmon Arm, BC
PRESS RELEASE

While the destination may be exotic, a visit to Junglemania is truly a home-grown experience.
Owners Liz and Chris Moore, formerly of the UK, opened the over-the-top indoor children's play structure last month and things are in full swing. When planning for the facility, a conscious effort was made to source as much material as possible from local markets.

For example, all the equipment was built in Canada and assembled on site. The Jungle Cafe tables and reception area kid-sized cubby holes were built in Salmon Arm's industrial park by Mi-Tec Millwork. The giant mural was designed by Warren Welter and skillfully painted by Len from LA Sign Shop. The website and printing is all done locally. Liz and Chris worked with local trades people and service providers and bought everything they could buy in Salmon Arm, right down to the coffee beans...
The coffee served in the Jungle cafe is Jungle Java, an exclusive blend roasted for JungleMania by the Shuswap Coffee Company from Salmon Arm. JungleMania is pleased to introduce this new blend which can also be purchased at JungleMania and enjoyed at home. Visit JungleMania from January 30 to February 4, and enjoy a complimentary cup of Jungle Java - a full bodied coffee that soothes the savage beast in all of us.

Chris and Liz are delighted that the birthday parties are such a hit - there are several each day, so book now to avoid disappointment. If you have little ones at home during the week, come by for the Parents and Tots or Grandparents day specials. It's often quieter and easier with little ones during the day when the bigger JungleManiacs are at school. Kids under 3 get a discount on weekdays.

ADAM - Targeted Industry Attraction strategy hits a ‘triple play’ for the City of Salmon Arm

Press Release
For Immediate Release: April 6, 2006

As of March 31st Salmon Arm Economic Development by way of the Targeted Industry Attraction strategy hits a ‘triple play’ for the City of Salmon Arm:

Investment and Job Creation
Manufacturing
Alternative ‘Green’ Power

The SAED started working with stakeholders from Alberta in mid January of this year, and after two and a half months on researching various BC communities ADAM Integrated Industries Inc. can officially call the Salmon Arm Industrial Park its home.

ADAM, an acronym for Advanced Design and Manufacturing, is a company that will consolidate three internal divisions with start-up inked at July 1, 2006. These divisions will be introduced in a phased approach and will operate in a new to-be-built 28,000 square foot building in the industrial park while creating employment for up to 20 people.

ADAM’s immediate focus will be on contract manufacturing; it has numerous well established customers which include Westward Parts, a company recognized as one of North America’s largest agricultural parts distributor. A heavy investment in laser cutting technology will provide many opportunities to enhance service for both an existing and new customer base.

ADAM consulting will apply over 30 years of professional and accredited industry experience to assist both established and new clients with prototype development, and product and process design services.

In addition to its manufacturing and consulting revenue models, ADAM will phase in its OpenEnergy product lines. Since there is a growing acceptance and desire on the part of consumers to use alternative energy sources, ADAM has strategically acquired the North American rights to products such as BioGem. With utility infrastructures becoming over-loaded, and environmental challenges for traditional energy transmission becoming greater, ADAM believes a distribution generation system similar to European models is inevitable.

In closing, SAEDS asked why Salmon Arm? Margaret McMaster, a stakeholder in ADAM responded, "We were able to verify for ourselves that all the rave reviews were actually true! We were impressed both by the obvious spirit of cooperation fostered by the EDS staff and the City, and the specific, concrete support they have provided."

SAED in conjunction with the City of Salmon Arm has been able to attract three manufacturing companies in nine months since June of 2005.
